FAUX FINISH SCHOOL of Artistic Illusions Studios welcomes
you...
Faux
painting has never looked better!
ABOUT THE FAUX FINISH SCHOOL
The
faux finish school classroom area has been designed to
resemble a small Italian piazza (town square).
The goal is to give you a fun, interesting learning
environment, while at the same time demonstrate
what the faux finishes being taught would look like in
a full-scale application.
Upon entering the school you are immersed in olde
world charm!
Visitors find themselves surrounded by textures
and paint techniques such as cracked
plasters, Italian stuccos, faux cut stone, faux brick,
wrought iron, wood graining, and more!
You will also find a wonderful kitchen modeled after an
actual kitchen in a 250 year-old Italian villa! The kitchen
in the faux finish school however, has modern conveniences,
is fully stocked for our students to enjoy and the coffee
pot is brewing at all times!
The students take breaks in the courtyard setting, where
the European atmosphere inspires even the most conservative
student!
THE CLASSROOM (LE INFORMAZIONI DELL'AULA)
Welcome to the classroom! Here is where
you will learn the secrets of successful faux finishing!
Dan and Amanda will instruct you on ways to master faux
metallics, tame the trowel, conduct symphonies with imported
Italian stuccos and devour Venetian Plasters.
In the classroom, you can practice faux finishing on a
25-foot practice wall, complete with
crown moulding and baseboards. This has proven to be a
very valuable tool for teaching the correct way to prep
on an actual jobsite.
No other faux finish school offers a practice
wall of this size!
See Le INFORMAZIONI.
Students will also benefit from the state-of-the-art full
spectrum "true light" to work by during class
time.
You will also find a variety of faux
finishing samples on the classroom wall provide visual
guidance regarding each faux finish technique the student
will receive instruction for, so the end result is obvious.
All guesswork is removed.
You will have ample room to work at your own station,
and the faux painting tools and equipment used in class
are the best on the market!
Artistic Illusions Studio uses the Adicolor
line of products for the residential
and commercial projects they
are commissioned to do, so this is also what is taught
with at the faux finish school.
Our faux finish
school courses are not strictly product-based
in their curriculum, but Dan and Amanda know
what works for them in the field, so this information
is passed on to students.
Over-all though, the techniques are taught with a wide
variety of products and materials, many of which can be
purchased at any of the home improvement centers across
the country.
The main objective of our faux finish
school is to teach you to discover what works
best for you and your particular market and style.
Keep in mind, if you are looking for instruction on a
particular faux painting technique
and it is not included in your class curriculum, just
let the instructors know ahead of time, and they will
do their best to include it for you, or perhaps spend
some time after class with you to explore your request.
They're here to help you succeed!
As for ongoing support, students are offered the opportunity
to come and attend an "update class"
when new finishes or products are introduced.
You will be welcomed to participate in a faux
finish message board frequented by muralists,
chemists, house painters, students and teachers from around
the world!
You can e-mail
the studio, and above all, Dan and Amanda
are always just a phone call away if you need help immediately!
